Full color and pantone color (PMS) printed carbonless forms are much fancier and impressive than the regular 1 color and 2 color printed forms. They are also known as 4-color and CMYK process color printed carbonless forms. They are primarily used as invoice forms, sales order forms and data entry forms for business that are more conscious about their identity and branding.
There are number of things that you would need to know about color carbonless forms designing and printing. Designing color forms requires more thought and planning as impact of printed colors is much more effective. Consistency of color pattern with the rest of stationary items is essential for achieving a cohesive business image.
Normally color carbonless forms are printed on heavier 21 Lb carbonless paper. Only the first part which is white is printed in full color. The remaining parts are printed in black or any other color. Occasionally a business would require all parts printed in full color. Even more, you may need each part to have slightly different printed matter. Backside printing or both sided printing is common on carbonless forms. Back side printing is usually printed at 50% black on gray-scale to avoid showing of printing on front.
For ease of use and easy record maintenance, color carbonless forms can have sequential or serial numbering, drill or punch holes and multiple perforations. The common form of binding is edge-glued sets, though forms can also be bound in forms of perforated books or booklets with cardstock/chipboard back and wraparound cover page.
Most common sizes are half-page 5.5”x8.5”, letter size or full page 8.5”x11” and legal size 8.5”x14”. Customs sizes can also be ordered.
